Happy Backstabbing Jerks Day! The day when a bunch of jerks decided to bite off the hand that fed them and kick that hand out of the country they had stolen off another group of people.

Heh...if you make an announcement like this for every former British colony's declaration of independence then you'll be doing this every day. ;D

Nah, America are the only ones who were jerks about it - everyone else asked nicely first...

I WANT AN AUSTRALIAN REPUBLIC DAY! The Empire has been good, but has screwed us over quite a few times and we aren't a true democracy until we ditch Lizzie.

*Removes 300 Karma from Fleexy manually* You weren't kidding... *smites DHeadshot again* Relax - Karma doesn't mean anything. I could set you to +/- 1000000 and it wouldn't make any difference... But, If it makes you happy: *Returns Fleexy's Karma to normal*

Her Majesty is keeping you grounded. um.... she does nothing but take our taxes. We have a Governor-General who has all the power. The GG in 1975 caused a constitutional crisis when he (Kerr) dismissed the PM of the time (Whitlam) at a whim with out even asking the Queen for any kind of permission. I'd like an elected Executive to do that, not an instated moron. Instated by the PM yes, but elected would be ideal, which means a republic. Anyway, Australia deservers its independence We identify ourselves as Australian, not British, so we should have our own independent state.

You need Her Majesty's consent for major things like declaring war. You know full well that if allowed you'd be attacking everyone like the US do...

well DHeadshot, we only entered WW1 and 2 because of your King declaring war. Our PM in the first year of WW2 said that we had to join because the King couldn't be at war and at peace at the same time. Also, ALL AUSTRALIAN LEGISLATION NEEDS ROYAL ASSENT! Of sorts, the GG. EVERY PART OF IT (not meant as yelling, meant as an expression of the gravitas of that)
Haha, and nice one StupidBunny!
